1. You Must Install an EMV Card Reader.

Make sure the ATM machine has an EMV card reader installed.

If your ATM was purchased from ATMTrader during 2015, it may come with an installed EMV kit. Make sure to check your ATM machine has an EMV kit installed. If your ATM is not EMV upgradeable, you will need to purchase a new EMV ready ATM.

2. Make Sure Your ATM Has the Latest Software.

After installing the EMV card reader, make sure the ATM has compliant software.

It is recommended that your ATM has the latest software installed. Without the latest software, EMV transactions will not process properly. An SD card or USB drive with the software file will be required.

3. Remember to Enable EMV on Your ATM Machine

With the latest software, make sure to enable EMV on the ATM.

After the software is upgraded, make sure to ENABLE EMV in the settings to be able to process EMV transactions. You will need either your master or service password to get access to the settings function.
